Who We Are

The mission of the Merrimac United Methodist Church is to “Help all people know and experience the saving grace found in Jesus Christ our Lord”. Helping all people indicate having “open hearts, open minds, open doors” for each person entering the church building and for those persons we meet outside the church walls.

The essence of the Merrimac United Methodist Church is its people, whose lives exemplify the spirit of “God’s Work, Our Hands”. Diversity is apparent in the people of this church. Love is what keeps the bond of acceptance alive in welcoming all members, friends, and visitors. We are people dedicated to praying and reading scripture with faith in God. We are also a people continually striving and searching for more ways to improve ourselves in order to serve others. The words in 1 Peter 3:8 express what we ultimately desire to be: “Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”

Welcome to all!
